What is synchronized swimming?
Synchronized swimming is a form of swimming that combines dance and gymnastic moves which are synchronized to music. This Olympic Sport can be done alone (solo) or in groups (duet, trio, team, etc.) in sync with music. It requires strength, timing, endurance, grace and the love of being in and under water.
Who is eligible?
Girls and boys between the ages of 6 and 19 who are able to comfortably swim in deep water for the width of the pool.
When is the season?
The Summer Season begins in June and ends with our Finals Meet the end of July. We will have Free Lessons the last week of May at Fort Collins area pools so you can come and give Synchro a try before the season begins!
2024 Meets: 6/29, 7/13
2024 Finals: 7/23-7/24 (Beginners are usually only on the first day)
Where do we swim?
Practices are held at Foothills Green Pool, 2006 Union (off Constitution & Winfield). We also have 1 water shows near the end of the season for our family and friends. Usually late July at Foothills Green. Out of town meets (3 figure meets and one finals meet) are held at pools in the Denver area.
When are practices?
Mornings Monday-Thursday from June through July. First year swimmers or under 10 years old practice 8:30 to 9:30 AM. Intermediate swimmers practice 8:30 to 10:00 AM.
What will my swimmer need?
One piece swimsuit for practices. A black one piece suit and a plain white swim cap for meets. We will place a bulk order for the black suits, caps and nose clips the first week of practice. In mid June, swimsuits go on sale! That's when swimmers and parents will coordinate costumes for water show and finals routines.
How does the Synchronized Swim Team compete?
There are typically 3 Figures Meets preceding the 4th and final State Meet which includes figures and routines. There are 5 clubs in Colorado that compete in the Rocky Mountain Summer Synchro League.
What is a figures meet?
The term “Figures” refers to a single swimmer demonstrating a specific move in front of a panel of judges who score them. The judges use the US Synchronized Swimming handbook for scoring skills or a series of skills. Swimmers compete against others in their age group and/or ability. The top swimmers are acknowledged with ribbons at the end of every meet.
Who runs the team?
The coach(es) provides technical training and program support in accordance with USA Synchro Rules while parents provide administrative support via a Parent Committee. There are many opportunities for parents to stay involved!

Do you need a coach?
